We’re here
Two weeks ago, we were scrambling to postpone the upcoming Swim Drink Fish gala and art preview events and preparing to work from home for the foreseeable future. No one knew (or knows) how long the Covid-19 pandemic will be affecting our communities, but we’re here for you for the long haul.
These two weeks have been a roller coaster ride for everyone. People are concerned and worried for friends and family who are sick. They’re anxious about how this will impact their families, education, jobs, and of course their health. We’re all looking for ways to be well mentally and physically when we're spending most of our time inside and isolated.
Our team has been working around the clock to pull together information to help you connect with nature and manage your anxieties during these challenging times.
Here’s a new, authoritative list US states and the impacts of the novel coronavirus on beaches from Swim Guide.
Look for the special “Beach closure” advisory now available on Swim Guide as well. You’ll see it on any beach impacted by Covid-19 social distancing rules or where water quality monitoring has been disrupted.
Here’s an index of which parks are open and closed in Ontario due to Covid-19, from Great Lakes Guide. It’s being updated daily.
People online and in the Swim Drink Fish network have hundreds of questions about if/ where/ how they can safely turn to nature to help them during this time.
We’re doing our absolute best to be there to support the community in every way we can. New articles come out daily. Quick updates and alerts are broadcast through social media. Yesterday, the team started working on a brand new Swim Drink Fish website to make it easier for you to keep up with the news and your friends in the movement.
Our community is our top priority.
These last two weeks have been some of the busiest in our memory. We founded Swim Drink Fish because we know that a connection to nature (especially water) is crucial for a community’s well-being. We’ll continue to do everything we can to answer your questions and help you through this. Stay in touch.
