Donation Terms and Conditions

  1. DEFINITIONS

    1. Donation: any asset, including any monetary amount, gifted by a Donor to Swim Drink Fish through electronic authorization on the Swim Drink Fish website or otherwise.

    2. Donor: a person who donates, has donated or will donate to Swim Drink Fish.

    3. Goal: Swim Drink Fish is committed to collecting recreational water quality samples and making it available to the public doing research for reports on water quality, taking legal action against water pollution, completing restoration projects, implementing citizen scientist initiatives, and creating water-related apps and digital platforms.

    4. Swim Drink Fish: Swim Drink Fish is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 and located at 600 Bay Street, Unit 303 Toronto, Ontario M5G 1M6 Canada

    5. Stripe: Stripe is Squarespace Commerce’s supported payment processor that processes your donations.

  2. APPLICABILITY

    1. These General Terms and Conditions apply to every Donation.

    2. By making a Donation, the Donor agrees with these General Terms and Conditions.

    3. Stripe uses the personal data of each Donor to process its Donation. Stripe’s Privacy and Cookie Notice applies to Swim Drink Fish’s processing of this personal data.

  3. DONATIONS

    1. By making a Donation, a Donor agrees that Swim Drink Fish is entitled to use the Donation at its own discretion, so long as it is within the scope of the Goal Swim Drink Fish, CRA guidelines for charitable activities, and any directions that may have accompanied the Donation (e.g., to be directed to a specific project). 

    2. A Donation is irrevocable.

    3. The Donor can request cancellation of recurring donation by contacting us through our website.

    4. Swim Drink Fish will provide Donors with a donation receipt via email. Tax receipts will be issued in accordance with Canadian law and CRA guidance.

  4. FINAL PROVISIONS

    1. Canadian law applies to a Donation and to these general terms and conditions.
