5 Must-See Vancouver Beaches for Summer 2018

Looking to harness your inner fish this summer? Here are 5 beaches that you should explore! But before you do that, be sure to check Swim Guide for the latest info on water quality.

1. Get Active at Deep Cove Beach (North Vancouver)

Deep Cove is an incredible hub for watersports. It’s a great place to try out new activities such as surf ski or stand up paddleboard (SUP). The waters are calm and you may even see some marine life while you’re out there! To hit the spot after your watery workout, head to Honey Doughnuts & Goodies, a favourite of locals and tourists alike. Quarry hike is also just a few steps away so if you want to enjoy the beautiful water from above, be sure to check out this trail.

2.Bring the Entire Family to Garry Point Park (Steveston)

If you're looking for a laid-back weekend outing, look no further than Garry Point Park. It’s the perfect place to have a picnic with family or friends, including the family pooch. There are dog watering stations around the park and if you’re lucky, you’ll come across some salmon zipping through the water. If you don’t have time to grab the necessities for a picnic, take a short walk to Steveston Harbour. There you can grab some lunch from Pajo’s Fish and Chips and walk around the quaint town. Our stomachs are growling just thinking about it!

Have a book you can’t wait to dive into? Craving a relaxing day of floating on the water? Then this is the beach for you! Just one hour from the busy city is this cool water reservoir. Crowds flock here on sunny days but the north side of the lake offers more seclusion if more quiet time is what you desire. There are also a few hiking trails surrounding the lake if you choose to venture into the wilderness to dry off.
