Kingston Hub Special Projects

Swim Drink Fish aims to achieve our mission of a Swimmable, Drinkable, Fishable water by expanding our work and engaging with our community. We do this by working with other groups and community partners on special projects that align with our mission. We also develop resources and programs that can help community members get more involved with their water and become environmental stewards themselves.

  • Gord Edgar Downie Pier

The Gord Edgar Downie Pier was a result of the Great Lakes Challenge Project that include collaboration with the CIty of Kingston, The W. Garfield Weston Foundation and several other grassroots community groups. It is our largest restoration project and was the first urban deep water swimming pier in Canada.

  • Adopt-a-Site Program

The Adopt-a-Site program was developed to expand our monitoring efforts by providing the tools and resources necessary for community members to monitor their own site! Click below to learn more about this program.

  • Water Literacy Workshops

Outside of our normal sampling the Kingston Hub hosts Water Literacy Workshops for groups of all ages and sizes! If you are interested in learning more about Water Literacy Workshops contact us by email!
