Farewell, Bob Hunter

On Monday, May 2, 2005 environmental activist and reporter Bob Hunter passed away. Lake Ontario Waterkeeper extends our thoughts and wishes to Bob’s family at this time. Bob’s life was, and continues to be, an inspiration for the many who follow in his footsteps, protecting and winning back our natural environment.

A public memorial is scheduled for Sunday May 15th, 2pm at the Great Hall in University of Toronto’s Hart House. More information (416 978-2452).

A permanent outdoor memorial is also on display at 95 Queen’s Quay East. This wonderful mural is #70 in a series by renowned artist Wyland and was signed by Bob in 1997. The ?Whaling Wall? on Toronto?s waterfront is a unique homage to Bob Hunter.
