The Attorney General of Canada, Minister of the Environment, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Minister of Transport, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and Ontario Power Generation (OPG) have notified us they will appeal a recent Federal Court decision regarding the Darlington New Nuclear Power Plant.

The Court recently threw out approvals for the project. The Court ruled that more work needs to be done to review the environmental effects of the proposal, if Ontario decides to move forward with nuclear expansion.

Lawyers from Ecojustice and CELA represented Lake Ontario Waterkeeper, Northwatch, CELA and Greenpeace in that case.
