Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. returns to Fairmont Banff Springs for Waterkeeper Alliance fundraiser
(BANFF) -- Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., president of the world’s fastest-growing environmental movement, returns to Banff, Alberta this month to raise funds for the global Waterkeeper Alliance. Hollywood stars Alec Baldwin, Giancarlo Esposito, Brad Garrett, Marcia Gay Harden, Cheryl Hines, Virginia Madsen, Camryn Manheim, Edward James Olmos, and Alicia Silverstone will join Kennedy at the event.
“We are thrilled to be joining our friends in a return to the Fairmont Banff Springs and Sunshine Village for a weekend of fun and a weekend of raising funds for the most important fight of our time – the fight for clean water,” stated Marc Yaggi, Executive Director of Waterkeeper Alliance. “Support from this weekend will foster our vision for swimmable, drinkable, fishable waters across North America.”
The public can join the stars at the Fairmont Banff Springs on Saturday, January 14, 2012 for a dinner and auction. This is the tenth time that Waterkeeper Alliance has been the beneficiary of the Fairmont Sports Invitational, which has raised close to $10 million to protect the world’s waterways.
Tickets for the 2012 Sports Invitational dinner are available through the Fairmont website.
All proceeds from the event benefit Waterkeeper Alliance’s efforts to create a world where every person can safely swim, drink, and fish.
Waterkeeper Alliance is a global environmental movement uniting nearly 200 Waterkeeper organizations around the world and focusing citizen advocacy on the issues that affect our waterways, from pollution to climate change.
