Toronto beaches get a bad rap

Krystyn Tully speaks with Julia Alexander from the Toronto Sun about Toronto beaches. Urban beaches, especially those in Toronto, are approached by many with the stigma that the water is unclean or unsafe. Through our research with Swim Guide, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper has become an expert on beaches. We can tell you that Toronto has some of the best beaches on the Great Lakes!

“People think the lake is still unsafe to swim in, and that’s just not true,” said Krystyn Tully, vice-president of Lake Ontario Waterkeeper... “The problem is people don’t generally know what the main reason for beach closures is.”
