MM: How are you doing?

PM: Great! Stopping to re-examine my fast pace in life, I travel 80%+ of the time, and this is a perfect time to reflect on my travel versus home time.

MM: Where are you living and what are your daily routines?

PM: I live in Toronto. I go for long runs every morning, and when possible take pictures of little-known trails and streams in Toronto, and wildlife too. Then I go home, work, watch Netflix, and play with my granddaughter.

MM: What are you looking forward to most?

PM: Travelling again. I determined I like my fast-paced life. My mom told me before she died to "slow down, you move too fast", and I like moving fast.

MM: Do you believe the COVID-19 crisis will leave lasting scars on our world? If so, how?

PM: Yes, the younger generation will have difficulty saving to buy big-ticket items, like homes and that was a problem before the pandemic. That said, I think the world is growing together, we need to trust and rely on each other more, the crisis has shown us that we are all the same, and COVID-19 doesn't pick favorites and we have to work together towards a cure. So in a way, the world will be brought closer together.

MM: If you were a fish, what would it be?

PM: A muskie.

MM: Are you currently involved in any citizen science engagement in your community? Swim Guide? Gassy? Monitoring Hub? iNaturalist? Other?

PM: I am feeding Gassy with pictures during my runs.
