One way Swim Drink Fish connects people to water is through community science. Collecting data, like water quality or surface water temperature, helps identify swimmable water.
Community science and swimmable water
Swimming is an indicator for clean water. Swimmable water is also drinkable and fishable. To know if waters are swimmable requires data. We train hundreds of volunteers every year to become community scientists. Now, we’re thrilled Theodore TOO is one of the newest community scientist on the Great Lakes.
Using a temperature sensor, Theodore will collect surface water temperature during his travels. This webpage will be updated with the latest data as it becomes available.
