Toronto Hub Special Projects

Swim Drink Fish aims to achieve the mission of a Swimmable TO by expanding our work and engaging with our community. We do this by working with other groups and community partners on special projects that align with our mission. We also develop resources and programs that can help community members get more involved with their water and become environmental stewards themselves.

  • The Floatables Strategy

The Toronto Inner Harbour Floatables Strategy is a partnership between many organizations with the goal of improving the water quality and aesthetics of the Toronto Inner Harbour through the management of floatable debris. Click below to learn more!

  • Community Site Program

The Community Site program was developed to expand our monitoring efforts by providing the tools and resources necessary for community members to monitor their own sites! This program makes use of our Toolkit. Click below to learn more about this program.

  • Water Literacy Workshops

Outside of our normal sampling the Toronto Hub hosts Water Literacy Workshops for groups of all ages and sizes! If you are interested in learning more about Water Literacy Workshops contact us by email!

  • Black Creek Outfall Monitoring

The Black Creek Outfall Monitoring Project is a collaboration between the University of Toronto Scarborough, Toronto Metropolitan University, and Swim Drink Fish. The goal of this project is to assess the chemical composition of the water flowing from five outfalls in the Black Creek. Click Below to learn more and see the water quality results!
