A Big Night for the Swim Drink Fish Movement:

Musicians, Artists, and Philanthropists Gather to Support Swimmable, Drinkable, Fishable Water.

Canadian artists and philanthropists contribute to another outstanding Swim Drink Fish Gala. Artworks by James Lahey, Barbara Cole and Edward Burtynsky were highlights in the live auction.

Toronto, Ontario—Over 380 people gathered at Hotel X Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario for the eighth annual Swim Drink Fish Gala presented by Breakwater Investments and the McKeil Family Foundation. More than $585,000 was raised at the event, bringing the event’s fundraising tally to $3.985-million over the past eight years.

Highlights from the gala included:

  • Performances by Sarah Harmer and Matthew Good.

  • The 12-piece live art auction with Canada’s foremost fine art auctioneer, Stephen Ranger of Waddington’s.

  • Swim Drink Fish board members Jennifer Baichwal and Kevin Lowe appointing new ambassadors: Barbara Cole, David Kitching, James Lahey, Patrick Wedaseh Madahbee, and Pam and William Tozer.

All gala proceeds support Swim Drink Fish’s movement of people working for a future where everyone in Canada can experience swimmable, drinkable, fishable waters.

Swim Drink Fish Canada’s initiatives (Lake Ontario Waterkeeper, Fraser Riverkeeper, North Saskatchewan Riverkeeper, Great Lakes Challenge, Swim Guide, Watermark Project, and Great Lakes Guide) create tools using law, science, and communications technology that inspire people around the world to explore, understand, and protect their waters.
