Blue Flags awarded to 22 beaches and 10 marinas in Canada for 2022, announces Swim Drink Fish
“Being a Blue Flag was so helpful in Swim Drink Fish’s work in reconnecting Torontonians, and visitors, to Bluffers Beach. Before 2006, Bluffers suffered from some of the worst water quality in all of Toronto. Now, it's the number one swimming destination in Canada’s most populated city, with regular passing of water quality above 90% on Swim Guide. Bluffers is the example of what happens when you connect a community to its waterfront again.”
#GetintoEarthWeek
This year, 2022, the theme for Earth Day is “invest in our planet.” We’re taking the word invest and putting it into people. This challenge will invite you to invest in our planet by fostering a connection to nature, as we protect what we love. Fostering this connection can take shape in any form you'd like. Whether that be taking a leisurely stroll by the water's edge, taking the plunge at your local waterbody, partaking in the act of forest bathing, creating connection through art, or becoming a community scientist by participating in your local community events.
