Kingston, Ontario — Lake Ontario Waterkeeper launch their 7-week Kingston and Wolfe Island Culture Festival this Friday at a special opening ceremony at the General Wolfe on Wolfe Island.

BACKGROUND:
Kingston & Wolfe Island Culture Festival (KWICF):
A celebration of Great Lakes Voices.
The 7 week long festival, opening with the Wolfe Island Festival of the Arts (June 23 - 24) and closing with the Wolfe Island Music Festival (August 11 - 12), will showcase how Kingston & Wolfe Island exemplify all that the Great Lakes can provide in a swimmable, drinkable, fishable future.
KWICF is funded in part by a generous grant from Ontario150 as well as promotional support from VisitKingston.ca.
Lake Ontario Waterkeeper:
Lake Ontario Waterkeeper is a Canadian charity working for a day when every person in our watershed can safely touch the water, when the water is pure enough to drink, and when the lake is clean and wild enough that you could toss in a line anywhere and pull out a fish.
