Need a source for energy stories in Ontario?

The big issue this fall in Ontario is energy. Pipelines, nuclear power plant leaks, wind farm controversy, and hydroelectric dams are all over social media and news outlets.

The Province of Ontario is currently reviewing its long-term energy plan, with a month-long public comment period ending on September 16, 2013. If you are working on a story about the long-term energy plan, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper can provide information about:

  • the environmental impacts of major energy projects such as nuclear power plants and large-scale hydro stations

  • the context and history behind Ontario’s long-term energy “plan”

  • methods and ideas that would help Ontario create a stronger, more innovative energy plan

Talk to Lake Ontario Waterkeeper President and environmental lawyer, Mark Mattson, about Ontario’s energy plan now. Mark Mattson has been involved in Ontario’s energy planning for over 20 years. Mattson has expertise on the impacts of energy projects on Lake Ontario.

About Lake Ontario Waterkeeper

Lake Ontario Waterkeeper is a Canadian charity working for a day when every person in our watershed can safely touch the water, when the water is pure enough to drink, and when the lake is clean and wild enough that you could toss in a line anywhere and pull out a fish.
