I took Pete Seeger, Gord Downie, & The Sadies to Wolfe Island for the weekend

I spent the weekend listening to new music from Gord Downie, The Sadies & The Conquering Sun, walking around the ice floes off Wolfe Island, and watching migratory birds arrive on the Great Lakes for spring.

I was heeding Pete Seeger’s advice, trying to participate in one of my favourite outdoor spaces.

The experience reminded reminded me of how Gord is emblematic of a powerful wave of leaders who participate in social change while continuing to excel at their chosen craft.

When asked about the new collaboration with The Sadies and his environmental work, Downie put it simply: "Social causes are quite obvious. Music brings people together. So my function in anything I do is to help bring people closer in.”
